1.Study on the ecosystem structure and function of Populus euphratica: Study on the dynamic change characteristics of dominant population in the desert riverbank Populus euphratica ecosystem and its adaptation mechanism to the environment at the population level;The diversity of plant communities in desert riparian forest ecosystem was studied at the community level, with emphasis on the dynamics of plant community structure and pattern, the dynamics of plant species diversity and the mechanisms of species coexistence.At the ecosystem level, the structure and function of the desert riparian Populus euphratica forest ecosystem, the mechanism of maintaining ecosystem function and the relationship between biodiversity and system productivity were studied.

2.Research on restoration and protection technology of Populus euphratica forest ecosystem: focus on the degradation mechanism and restoration mechanism of desert riparian forest ecosystem, and focus on the key technologies such as population renewal and reproduction, stand structure optimization, management and management of natural Populus euphratica forest and Populus euphratica、Populus Pruinosa  forest.
