1.Introduction

The fine individual plant refers to the individual plant with outstanding performance. It is necessary to select good individual plants based on the selection of good population. This is one of the important ways to use the natural variation of species to realize the selection of improved varieties. The selection of fine individual plants can use methods such as the selection method of scattered trees, the comparison method of dominant trees, and the selection method of fine traits. The fine individual plants are usually selected from the identified superior stands or the stands with clear provenance and excellent performance.

At present, 19 fine individual plant germplasm resources of Populus euphratica have been collected, which are mainly distributed in 16 cities (counties) of 9 regions, including Aksu, Kashgar, Bayingoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Bortala Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture, Hotan Region, Tacheng Region, Turpan City, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture and Altay Region. Among them, among, the Aksu area has the largest number of fine individual plants and resources. Populus euphratica fine individual plant germplasm resources are distributed in E76° 20'~87° 16', N36° 19'~42° 5', and the altitude range of 954~1405m in southern Xinjiang; in northern Xinjiang, they are distributed in E82° 51' ~ 91° 17', N42° 51' ~46° 54', altitude range of -16m~750m, specifically distributed near Aibi Lake (Jinghe County, Alashankou City), Kuitun River (Wusu City), Dahe Along the river (Turpan City), West Bank Daqu (Shawan County), Irtysh River (Fuyun County).
